The Invisalign Process
Your Invisalign journey begins with a consultation at St. Charles Family Dentistry. Our team will discuss your smile goals and evaluate your teeth and gums to determine if Invisalign is the right fit for you. Using our iTero digital scanner, we’ll quickly and comfortably capture digital impressions of your mouth to design your personalized treatment plan. Your custom aligners are then crafted in the Invisalign lab from a BPA-free, comfortable plastic. Once they’re ready, you’ll return to our office to receive your aligners and detailed instructions on how to use them. Generally, this process includes:
- You’ll wear each set of aligners for one to two weeks before moving on to the next set.
- The aligners are fully removable, allowing you to eat and drink freely and maintain your regular brushing and flossing routine.
- It’s advised to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day.
- We’ll schedule brief and comfortable check-ups to track your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
- Most patients finish their Invisalign treatment within a year or less.
- Once your treatment is complete, we’ll provide you with a custom-made retainer to wear at night to help preserve your excellent results.
